I love the design of Base One Max. In a world of lightweight and plasticy charging stations, Nomad made sure to give it enough heft, so it doesn't slide off every time you take the Watch or iPhone off it.
This 3-in-1 charger stays in place on your desk and doesn't move easily, thanks to its non-slip rubber base. It is made of solid metal, premium glass, and dust- and scratch-resistant TPU, which has withstood more than a year of use on my table. It does so while adding a touch of elegance with its dual-tone design.
Many wireless chargers skimp on the charging pad, opting for generic Qi-compatible hardware instead of certified technology, which limits your iPhone's wireless charging to 7.5 watts. However, the Base One Max is a Made For iPhone (MFi) MagSafe charging pad that charges your Apple devices (both the iPhone and Apple Watch) at 15 watts.
It wirelessly charges iPhone 8 and later, as well as any Qi wireless charging device. Additionally, supported fast-charging Apple Watches include the Apple Watch Ultra (1-3), Series 7-11, and SE (3). It charges the AirPods at 5W.
The Nomad Base One Max comes with a two-meter braided USB-C to USB-C cable, which has held up well in my experience. I haven't noticed any wear and tear so far. Notably, it will work with only 30W+ changing bricks, so if you don't have one, I recommend purchasing the now-discounted and compact 30W Nomad AC Power Adapter for $17.
Now priced at $111, the Nomad Base One Max is a great deal. It is a quality product that won't disappoint you. The Base One Max is sturdy, looks great, and works well. You get all the benefits of an Apple-approved charger, but in a good-looking package.
